Best Greek islands for a girls trip
1. Santorini + Mykonos combo
The classic. Santorini for sunset photos and caldera dinners. Mykonos for beach clubs and nightlife. 3-4 nights each. The downside: most expensive Greek trip you can plan, and you'll be sharing destinations with thousands of other girls trips.
2. Mykonos alone (4-5 days)
If pure beach club energy is the trip goal, Mykonos delivers. Scorpios, Nammos, Principote. €200-500/person/day for the full experience. Hotel base in Mykonos Town for walking access to bars.
3. Paros + Santorini combo
For groups that want photo-perfect Greek vibes without Mykonos's intensity (or budget). Paros has Cycladic beauty + sandy beaches + good restaurants + decent nightlife in Naoussa. 3 nights Paros + 3 nights Santorini = solid 6-night trip.
4. Crete for variety-seekers
Bigger groups (6+) often work better in Crete because the variety lets different friends pick different days. Beach days. Hiking. Wine country. Restaurants. Crete absorbs energy without forcing everyone into the same activities.
5. Athens + island combo
2 nights Athens (Acropolis, Plaka, Athens Riviera beach club at Glyfada) + 4 nights island. Athens has surprisingly good nightlife — clubs in Gazi compete with Mykonos for energy. Combo gives you city + beach modes.
Tactical girls-trip advice
- Book accommodation early. 6+ person groups need villas or large suites. These book out 3-6 months ahead in summer. Last-minute means scattering across hotels.
- Villa vs hotel: Villa wins for groups of 6+. Per-person cost drops below hotel rates. Pool access. Common space. Ability to come and go without lobby logistics.
- Beach club reservations: Mykonos's premium clubs (Scorpios, Nammos) require reservations 1-2 weeks ahead in summer. Without reservation = no entry on busy days.
- Restaurant reservations: The famous photo restaurants in Santorini book out 3-6 weeks ahead in summer. Don't show up expecting a walk-in table at La Maltese in August.
- Private boat day: Catamaran charter for 8-10 people runs €1,500-3,500 for a half-day around Santorini caldera or Mykonos beaches. Per-person, often cheaper than two days of beach clubs and infinitely more memorable.
- Sunset photo logistics: Oia sunset is famously crowded. Plan to be there 90 minutes early for a spot. Or book a sunset cruise instead — far better photos, no crowd management.
- Athens stopover: Even if islands are the focus, 1-2 nights in Athens at the start of the trip lets the group recover from international flights before island travel chaos. We see groups arrive jet-lagged on Mykonos and spend Day 1 hating the trip.
